Scangarello and Associates and Planning Design Collaborative and has been providing an wide array of planning and design services for more than 42 years. Scangarello, LLC - Who We Are

Thomas J. Scangarello, a Licensed Professional Planner, is founder and president of Scangarello, LLC, a multi-disciplinary firm with offices in Naples, Florida, Long Beach Island and Medford Township, New Jersey.

Mr. Scangarello is a recognized expert in the field of land use planning. He specializes in design, zoning and environmental planning matters and is actively sought as a consulting planner and participant in state and national programs. Mr. Scangarello has represented municipal governments and planning and zoning boards for more than thirty years. He also represents private land developers. Throughout his career, he has prepared plans for residential and commercial development, natural resource inventories, master plans, waterfront revitalization plans, and land development ordinances for towns throughout New Jersey and New York. He has also participated in the development review process and has been retained as an expert witness in environmental planning and housing matters.

Mr. Scangarello has an extensive background in private practice where success comes from creativity of design and function, value and timing. He has prepared many plans for residential and commercial development. Mr. Scangarello has a great deal of experience preparing Site Feasibility Studies which are based on analysis, determination of the feasibility of land, recognition of environmental problems, preparation of design options and knowledge of the regulatory process of State, County and local agencies. His success in landscape architecture arises from his experience in community development and in community planning.

Mr. Scangarello is an active member of the Executive Board of the American Planning Association. He is the Chairman of the City of Naples Design Review Board. Mr. Scangarello is also a member of New Jersey Planning Officials. He is a participant in the annual New Jersey League of Municipalities sessions pertaining to planning and zoning issues. He initiated the state certification process for members of approving authorities in the State of New Jersey. As an adjunct professor for Rutgers University, he is responsible for teaching the planning and zoning course to newly appointed members of Planning and Zoning Boards.
